Demo Recap!

So! As I stated in my last post, I was invited to perform an erotic hypnosis lecture/demonstration for my local kink community. It was an absolute blast. :)

A few things were different this go-around. Neither of my demo-bottoms was comfortable demonstrating a hypnotic orgasm on stage (AKA the most iconic/popular erotic hypnosis trick); so I had to come up with other impressive things to show off (which I think worked out for the better, really!). And, while I had the better part of two hours to do my previous demo - I had about 45 minutes to an hour for this one. I stressed a lot about the small amount of time, but it was really not a problem at all - I was able to get a lot in, and the demonstration portion was particularly excellent!

Being short on time, I was sure to hit as many high points as I could. I went for more of an informational lecture for the most part. I covered the whole what-is-hypnosis spiel, did some myth-busting (it's handy that so many people ask me so many questions, I have a good sense of what people want to know and what they think they know).

I particularly tried to focus on things that hypnosis is notably good for - role play, binding people when you don't have rope on hand, freezing in place, enhancing sensitivity, sensations on command, feeling a loss of control...that sort of thing. I didn't get as many questions as last time, which is good, because at my last demo I went so far over time that it was ridiculous (but enjoyed and appreciated by that audience, though).

The demonstration part began with Lovely Petal. I froze her, and posed her amusingly. It's definitely handy to have a hypnotee who can freeze her facial expressions...it's a better convincer for the audience than almost anything else I could show. :) I also gave her a little bit of hypnobondage (rope is big in the community, so it seemed like the ideal thing to show off). Had her bound in an X-like position, and tickled her a little. And then I released her and she shook her arms and stamped her feet while smiling at me.

I then brought up someone that I had not worked with before - Calluna. Like the last demo, I felt that it was handy to demonstrate with someone who was new, both to "prove" the reality of what I did and to show the entire process in a genuine way complete with on-the-fly renegotiation and adjustments. She and I had negotiated beforehand, but that was about all the prep work I had done.

So I put Calluna under using the Elman induction, and she responded very well to the relaxation parts. I then did the suggestion she was most interested in: a little routine I've been calling my Three Pronged Hypno Beating. :) It consists of three post-hypnotic triggers: one for feeling a flogger across the back, one for feeling a hard spank, and one for feeling hot wax. For each of these sensations, I told Calluna that she would feel them exactly as she liked them - she would feel the wax in her favorite spots, she would feel the flogging exactly as she likes it, and she would feel the spanking at exactly her favorite intensity.

Well...Calluna is a switch. More to the point, she is a Sadist, and yes the capital S is intentional. So when I used the flogging trigger, she instead felt as though her shoulder was sore from flogging someone for an hour. XD As she put it later: switch problems!

The other two triggers worked great, though! She felt the wax on her feet (a few people in the audience oohed and said that they needed to try that), and the spanking trigger made her jump in her seat. After using both of those triggers, she curled up (after feeling the wax again), looked at me, and said, "I can hit you back for real, you know..."

After that, I checked that she was doing OK and comfortable with everything. Then I put her back under, cleared the triggers, and wrapped up my presentation.

There was a play party afterward - and I got some trancing done at that, too, although with other awesome people. That'll be in my next post!

I had a lot of people come up to me afterward to rave about it! Apparently I had good stage presence (I've had a LOT of public speaking practice). Some people even called it the best demo that they've seen in that space! I'm very flattered and thankful that people enjoyed it so much.

Into the Dungeon with Lovely Petal

Well, for a little bit, I may be making a few posts in anachronic order. I wanted to get this one up simply because I wanted to make a post about some of the awesome people in my current area of residence. Yes, I've relocated - meaning that I'm now quite a long ways away from Georgie, Eve, Pet Ferret, Miomi, and all the other wonderful people I've blogged about before (and the other awesome people that I haven't blogged about). I miss them, and I still keep in touch online, and I'm a better person because of all the great people I met there.

Relocating didn't slow me down much, though. One of the handy things about doing erotic hypnosis is that not a whole lot of people do it. Any time I get out in the local kink scene - whether here or in my previous residence - I am the only hypnofetishist, and in fact the only person who has done whole scenes built around hypnosis. I meet some people who know quite a bit about hypnosis, even some people who have used it - but nobody else who specializes in it and performs whole sessions with it.

As such: I attract attention. The good kind! Once the "name and kink" icebreaker ends, I tend to attract a smattering of people who hear about the new, unusual fetish and react with "Oooh, shiny! Tell me more!" (It also helps that I always bring along my signature shiny object - the pocket watch!)

One of these people was Lovely Petal. She truly is lovely in all ways, and had been hypnotized before - once at a stage show, and afterwards by her then-boyfriend. As such, she knew ahead of time that she was really, really susceptible, and in particular that she was capable of amnesia. Both were very handy bits of knowledge!

In fact, the first time I hypnotized Petal was at a munch - I was still "the new guy with the new fetish," so a few people asked to see a demonstration. I asked for volunteers, and Petal's hand shot up like a bullet. :D As it happens, she had previously been hypnotized via a hands-stuck induction, so I had no problem re-inducing her with the "have the hypnotee recollect an induction" technique. The hands-stuck-together-and-unable-to-move induction then flowed right into a freeze, and then posing, and then limp arms. I played with these suggestions a little bit as each one came up, and she had a huge grin on her face the whole time. As a result of this, both of us were very excited to scene together properly.

Petal's husband, KenjiSama - another lovely individual :) - was on hand for the session as co-top. This was the first scene I ever did inside somebody's personal dungeon!

Petal's susceptibility meant that I could do pretty much anything for the induction - so of course I chose a pocket watch induction! I followed it up with a deepening patterned after the Elman induction (eye closure, progressive relaxation, arm drop, count down, fractionation), and gave her the trigger "Sleepy Pet Petal" to put her under.

After this, I began freezing her and posing her. She preferred being unable to speak while frozen, and she is the second person I have yet hypnotized who is capable of frozen expressions. So I could freeze a smile on her face as easily as a movement of her arms - very nice. Before taking away her ability to speak, I removed her top while she was frozen - and she commented on how weird it was not to be able to help out.

After that little bit of sexy freeze play, I took Petal even deeper - using my watch to put her conscious mind to sleep along with her body. In our negotiation, she told me that she loved being called "helpless," or told that she could not resist. Naturally, I used the mantras "Can't resist, must obey" and "I am helplessly hypnotized" to deepen her trance. To play with the amnesia, I gave her two post-hypnotic triggers: a "Pause" trigger for an unaware freeze, and the Jedi Mind Trick. KenjiSama was also able to use both of these triggers on her.

From there, the three of us had a blast with these two - Kenji and I could use the Mind Tricks to get Petal to do just about anything (kneeling; making her arms limp; making her put back the crop that I placed in her hand while she was paused; getting her on all fours for a spanking; getting her out of the rest of those pesky clothes). Interestingly, she interpreted the suggestion so that once she was Mind Tricked into a position, such as all fours, she would stay there until commanded otherwise - which was very handy for teasing her and reinforcing that feeling of helplessness!

The "Pause" trigger was great for the co-topping dynamic - Kenji and I could concoct evil plans whenever she was frozen, in addition to messing with her by moving around or placing things in her hands while she was unaware. Probably my favorite was removing her glasses. :)

Ah, and then the first main event of the evening. During our negotiation, I had mentioned the idea of trapping Petal's will outside of her body, leaving her body a mindless, empty shell to be ordered around and used. Her response to the idea: "May we please, pretty please?" I brought the watch back out - and this time I opened it up, and while swinging it, I suggested that she would feel her mind being sucked out into the watch, and that once her mind was completely in the watch, she would announce "My mind is gone." Once she did so, I closed the watch to "trap" her mind there.

At this point, Petal was completely blank - able to be ordered around, repositioned; all while glassy-eyed and expressionless and utterly unresisting and totally obedient. After playing with her like this for a while, I opened the watch and "released" her will for a while, to check that she was enjoying it as much as she hoped.

Once I confirmed that she was OK with moving on, I expanded my power over her in the empty shell state - I suggested that I could control what she felt, as well as what she did. This gave me the ability to make her feel pleasurable sensations at will.

Now, the second main event. Petal had said that she wanted to try coming on command, but she didn't know if she could do it. In an unrelated conversation, KenjiSama had mentioned a clicker that the pair of them had played with.

I gave Lovely Petal the suggestion that every click of the clicker would give her a surge of arousal and pleasure - but she wouldn't be able to orgasm until I ordered her to. So I began clicking...and clicking...and clicking rapid-fire...and clicking some more...Kenji took over playing with her physically for a bit, while I kept up the clicking at a steady pace. Petal slowly became less and less articulate as I ramped up her arousal - and finally, I asked her if she was ready to come, she gasped out a dreamy "Yes," and I gave the order.

I don't think I'm going to forget the look of sheer, unbridled delight on her face any time soon. :D

So afterward, there was some cuddling, and a lot of water-drinking, and some very fun conversation among the three of us (in other words: aftercare, it is awesome).

And this was not my last time playing with Petal...but that will be saved for later, mwahaha.

Hypnosis Demo = Epic Succeed

...well, maybe not epic succeed, but definitely a good time, and I like using that phrase.

As is, Pet Ferret chose to back out of the demonstration - after considering it, she decided that she just wasn't ready to open up to strangers that way. Things got more complicated when Georgie had to mangle her schedule to get to the demo on time. So, no two-person scenes happened at the demonstration, although a lot of cool things did.

The turnout for the demo was predominantly women, which I find fascinating from a gender-theorist perspective. Hypnotism in general (not just the fetish) is often gendered as a feminine area (whether it's the sexy assistant brought up to be hypnotized on stage, the damsel in distress controlled by the evil villain, or the enchanting hypnotic seductress). It was intriguing to see that reflected in the attendance.

I started the demonstration with a lecture on what hypnosis is, trying to address all of the common misconceptions while providing realistic expectations of what is and is not possible with it. I also tried to address as many safety and ethics issues as possible (I skipped some in my nervousness, which bugs me still - at least they got addressed in the handout that all of the attendees received). I felt that I did a great job in being personable and knowledgeable, in answering questions and not letting my penchant for tangents get the better of me too often.

I brought Georgie up for the demonstration. She had given me permission to use more physical contact during the demo - so I cuddled up with the intention of adding to her relaxation during the reinduction process. I used the pocket watch here for dramatic effect - she described the process to me afterward by saying that she felt performance anxiety going under in front of an audience, but ultimately decided, fuck it, and relaxed for me. Unfortunately, she had some trouble getting quite as relaxed as she had last time - after I brought her back up, she stated that my proximity distracted her because she had an aversion to the smell of cissexual men (even clean and nice ones like myself!). That got a nice laugh out of the audience, at least! I rolled with it, moving myself away to allow her greater comfort.

I moved the demo into a demonstration of triggers, first freezing and posing her for the audience before putting her back under. The next routine was inspired by this blog post, as per Georgie's request - both of her hands were turned into proxies for her vulva et al. I brought up a mutual friend, Eve, to help me work her over - this got a laugh as she told Eve to go harder and then doubled over in pleasure. After finishing, she clapped her hands together - only to get a jolt, since the suggestion was in effect until she went back under. I resisted the horrible urge to make a "self-tribadism" joke, on the grounds that probably nobody would have gotten it.

I finished off Georgie's part of the demonstration by repeating the same bondage + orgasm scene described in the two posts about her trial session. I'm told that some of the onlookers had very amusing reactions to this, but I sadly did not notice because I was way into my hypnotist's trance.

Next, I brought up Pandora, who volunteered to be hypnotized without prior preparation. The two of us had met up and chatted a few days prior, and had discussed ideas for the demo over Fetlife. She's a LARPer, had done meditation, and enjoyed being a sub - so, as I told her, there was no chance in hell she would not go under well. I was right. >:) I put her under with the Elman Induction, helpfully pointing out the steps to the audience along the way.

Since she had that LARP and acting experience, I decided to differentiate her section from Georgie's by focusing on role play suggestions. I first turned her into a kitty, and she gave some very nice purrs as I petted her, scratched her neck, tickled her chin. Next, she became a bimbo - her friends in the audience stared wide-eyed as she started twirling her hair and staring vapidly. She didn't get too into the role, though - as we discussed in front of the audience when I brought her out. She commented that the role just wasn't comfortable, and I took the moment to note that playing to a hypntoee's preferences will always result in a better scene - and playing against them will be unsatisfactory for all involved, to say the least.

[Honestly? I'm not even INTO the whole bimbo thing. I just thought it would be cool to demonstrate a role play suggestion, and I happened to be familiar with that one since it's so popular in the hypno-community. She was cool with it in theory, even if she found it not-so-appealing to try.]

I finished Pandora's section off with another orgasm demonstration, since she really wanted to have one. I tried giving her the same type of suggestions as Georgie, only to find that she didn't respond to the idea of increasing sensitivity at all. So, I switched gears and gave her the suggestion that she would instead focus on a memory of a truly outstanding orgasm, savor the memory and bring those sensations right into the present once I tapped her on the forehead. Indeed, she began shifting and breathing heavily as I focused on building up her arousal (as opposed to her sensitivity), and then, as she nodded that she was ready, tapped her forehead and brought her to climax.

I continued answering audience questions for a while then, addressing some very cool discussion about different methods of trancing, different possibilities for play, and other bits of info about the whole hypnotism process.

I finished things up with a demonstration of instant inductions. ...at least, that was the plan. I brought Eve up for another cold induction, and proceeded to epically fail at doing a handshake induction. Twice. Then I tried to give her a butterfly hand induction, but she didn't go under - she did feel something, though, as if she was about to go under and then snapped awake. I commented that my nervousness probably got in the way of my timing, and that instant inductions were never my forte to begin with (they're useful now and then, but I find a slow, gradual induction both more rewarding and more effective on most occasions).

Mercifully, my goof was not recorded on the video of the demonstration. I think I would die of embarrassment if I had to watch that again when playing the video back for my friends.

I had a blast afterward, making small talk with all of the different people who came - with the previous back-up demonstration subject who found that she was able to come at the last minute, with the submissive of one of my pen pals from the community, with someone I recognized from a non-kinky context, with someone I had seen around at the munches and never got to talk to, with Pandora's boyfriend to muse on how her personal quirks affected her going under. I very much played the social moth, flitting from one conversation to the next depending on how fun it looked to join in - I do that sometimes. Like I said - a blast.

All in all - I think I did a pretty decent job. Not a great job, but a decent one! I'm proud of it, especially since I'm quite a bit younger than most of the people who come in to do presentations for the group.

Once the event was over, Georgie, Eve, and I headed back to Georgie's place for some additional fun...at least some of which will be the subject of a future blog post. :)
